As summer settles in and July approaches, I'm looking forward to one of my favorite moments of the year — our Village Baptist Church July 4th Celebration. I want this gathering to be more than an event on the calendar; it’s a chance for our church family and our community to come together, enjoy one another, and celebrate the blessings God has given us.

This year, we’re planning an evening filled with fellowship, food, and fun for all ages. Families can bring lawn chairs, kids can run and play, and everyone can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere that feels like home. We’ll fire up the grill, share a some  hot dogs, and spend time connecting with friends old and new. These simple moments of conversation and laughter often become the memories that stay with us long after the holiday has passed.

We’re also excited to open on‑site registration for Vacation Bible School during the event. If you’ve been planning to sign your children up, this will be a perfect opportunity. We’re praying that VBS will be a powerful week of gospel-centered teaching, and we’re grateful for every family who chooses to be part of it. July 4th gives us a natural moment to welcome new families, answer questions, and help them get connected.

As the evening winds down, we’ll enjoy the fireworks together — a reminder of the freedoms we celebrate as Americans. But even more importantly, it’s a reminder of the deeper freedom we have in Christ. While July 4th honors the liberty of our nation, our gathering also points us to the One who gives us spiritual freedom, hope, and peace.

We hope you’ll join us for this special night. Bring your family, invite a neighbor, and come ready to enjoy a time of fellowship and celebration. Village Baptist Church is blessed to be part of this community, and we look forward to celebrating July 4th with you.
